Part Preserve, Part Playground

Russell Lands is planning to set aside several thousand acres of property throughout its property at Lake Martin as a working forest known as the Russell Forest. The Russell Forest will ensure that future generations of Lake Martin residents and visitors may personally experience the woodlands and the flora and fauna supported by it. The Russell Forest also ensures that development will proceed in a manner harmonious with nature. The Russell Forest will also provide spectacular hiking, biking and equestrian recreation and will serve as center stage for our certified Naturalist.

Maintenance of the Russell Forest as a working forest will continue to provide filtration of our part of the watershed and keep Lake Martin as one of America’s cleanest lakes.
